I have had the same problem but i usually for example bend the e string with my second and fourt finger and then at the same time as i push my wrist up i hold my first finger on the upper string so it kinda goes out of the way or atleast doesnt make noises..

use the fleshy part …
use the fleshy part of your palm (the curve below your thumb) to mute the strings that you arent bending. make sure you have the fleshy either that part below your thumb or next to it to mute the top strings.. for example if your bending the b string or e string mute the low e a d g strings with that part.. hope it helps

I understand that …
I understand that one must bend to the next note in the scale and it’s very helpful! But i was curious that sometimes there are bends that go 1.5 step higher making it sharp and it kinda goes well with the solo or whatever, an example being slither by velvet revolver. So I was curious on if its possible to do that sometimes! thanks
